The golden glow is what most people are often after these days, especially as soon as summers around the corner. With flip flops, to mini skirts, most women would rather not show off their pale skin. To them, tanning salons are the best things that have ever been created. But always, with beauty comes pain, whether it is noticeable pain or not. What most do not know are the beneficial factors of indoor tanning beds, and yes, there are some positive things to be said about this topic.
The good news is Tanning beds were not actually tanning beds when they first came out. They were sunlight beds that were used to help people with calcium deficiencies improve their bodies absorbing abilities of the proper amount of calcium to maintain strong bones. Some even believed that it would thicken their bones.
That is why some tanning salons advertise their tanning beds as Vitamin D boosters. So the positive outcome of the invention of tanning beds is the fact that you can use these beds with complete privacy. You are in a room, by yourself, and whether you decide to use it wearing a bathing suit, or nude, is completely up to you.
Tanning salons always sanitize their beds after each time a customer uses it, but make sure that the salon you are going to is in fact a reputable salon. Some places do not take care of their beds as they should, which leads to customer, after customer, leaving their germs behind, which may leave some customers with ugly results. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Another topic that is usually brought up when it comes to tanning salons is the tanning accelerators that they recommend customers to use. Now do these actually work? Well for the most part, our skin tans well when it is moisturized, so moisturizing before, and after is key to avoiding dry skin. Some studies also show that what we eat also affects the outcome of whether we glow, or burn.
Foods that may help with a glow boost while tanning are fruits, and vegetables, especially ones that are high in beta-carotene. Eating enough protein that helps protect the skin, and helps with the production of melanin, which is the hormone responsible for the color of our skin. So basically if you are fair skinned and more likely to burn, make sure you pay close attention to what you eat.
Avoid unnecessary consumption of fast food, which just leaves your body working with extra fat, and more toxins to rid of. Instead, more eggs, which is known to be a complete protein that provides the body with all 9 essential amino acids. Milk as well is a complete protein. Carrots have high quantities of beta-carotene and so do broccoli, all these foods and more would benefit your skin, even when you are not tanning.
Now the bad thing about tanning, which I am sure many have already heard at least a million times, is the increase of damage to our skin, which causes pre-mature aging, and worst of all, even skin cancer. Tanning beds emit more UVA rays, and UVB rays in more quantities, in just a little bit of time. Some salons state that their beds do not emit UVB rays, which cause the skin to burn, but wherever you go, the beds always seem to produce even just a little of it, because the UVB rays, and UVA rays work together. That is why it is said to be worse than laying out in the sun. With continuous use, skin may end up looking dry, shriveled, and wrinkly over years of over-using. If tanning beds is something you just can not give up, then watching what you eat, what you put on your skin, and the amount spent out in the sun is best advised. When not tanning, use a sunscreen before you go out, you still get your glow, you will add moisture to your skin, and protect it at the same time. It is a win, win situation.
