Assemble Your Own Creative Wedding Favors

Congratulations, you’re engaged! Now comes the fun part: planning your dream wedding. If you want to host a terrific reception but need to find ways to save money, consider making your very own creative wedding favors. It’s easy, fun, and your guests will leave your wedding with something unique and interesting by which to remember your special day.
Give your guests the gift of music. Buy a pack of blank CDs and burn your favorite songs on to them. Add your own labels and you’re done! Remember to start the set list with the song from your first dance.
If your guests know you to be a gourmet cook, consider making food favors. Jams, preserves, spreads or salsas can be made way in advance and are easy to can. Assemble the ingredients, canning supplies, labels, and ribbons and your task will be done in no time. Guests will remember your wedding day every time they take a bite.
Try a tea themed favor. Shop thrift stores with your bridesmaids to find an eclectic mix of old teacups. Old cups in pretty patterns are surprisingly very cheap! Fill the cups with an interesting selection of tea bags and tie a pretty label on to the cup handle. These will make elegant and unique gifts.
For nature lovers, create something green and beautiful. Wildflower seed packets are a great gift that will last a long time. Make sachets out or inexpensive material and tied with twine or ribbon.
Alternatives to seed packets are small pots filled with bulbs or annual flowers. Use paint or ribbon to adorn the pots. Purchase six packs of annuals or bags of bulbs at a local nursery; gardening couples will enjoy making these favors!
Creative wedding favors are fun to make and only require a little money and some imagination. Personalized keepsakes will mean so much to your guests. As long as it means something to you, the favors will be a fun task instead of another hassle of wedding planning. Have fun!
