The diamond is an amazing stone and makes for a wonderful gift. But selecting a diamond can become a nightmare if you don’t know what you are doing. There are several things you should know when shopping for diamond stud earrings. First, cost. How much can you afford? You don’t want to get in over your head. Next, certification. Is the diamond certified? This will let you know wether or not its real. Finally, cut. Is the diamonds craftsman ship worth the price? You don’t want to buy a cheaply cut diamond.
So let’s talk price. What price can you afford to pay without buying on credit? Don’t let you emotion influence your decision. Be truthful with yourself. You don’t want to regret your purchase. You will not enjoy your diamond earrings. You will have spent money for nothing.
Now let’s talk quality. You need to know quality diamonds when you see them. Not knowing can lead to a poor quality diamond or worse a fake one. Lucky for you there is a basic set of rules that are easy to follow. They are the 4 C’s and they go like this. First, check the size in carats. Then check the cut for quality. Now look at the color of the diamond for beauty. Finally, look at the clarity of the diamond for any signs of blemishes.
Here is an example of what the four C’s look like. Let’s say you find a pair of diamond stud earrings. You notice they are 1/2 carats. You then notice they have what appears to be a flawless cut, beautifully proportioned. Then you see the color looks amazing to you. Finally, you see there is not any fogginess throughout and the diamond looks crystal clear. This would pass the 4 C’s rules.
