Look For The Signs Of Menopause

September 28th, 2009 by Susan Finnish

There are times in a woman’s life that she will never forget. The first time she kisses a boy, losing her virginity, getting married, the birth of her children and the first signs of menopause. While some of them are more wonderful and memorable than others, they are all important steps through womanhood.

From the time we’re born and grow up to have a period, we know our time will one day be done with the whole hormonal mess. Most young girls look at their monthly visitor as a nightmare they wish they could wake up from. However, when you start going through menopause, you may find yourself wishing for the old days. If you approach this time of your life with a positive mental image, you’ll be just fine.

These signs of menopause include night sweats or hot flashes that come for no apparent reason, regardless of the temperature of the room or environment as well as inactivity. These night sweats come on quickly and abruptly. Women who are easing into menopause also have reported a change in their sex drive.

If you start having hot flashes while you’re in bed at night or during the day when they just aren’t warranted, there is a good chance you’re about to get hit head long by menopause. Menopausal women have suffered for centuries with night sweats and hot flashes. Even when you take hormone replacement therapy, you may witness some hot flashes.

Another sure sign of menopause approaching is hot flashes. You can be sitting, doing nothing at all in a completely cool environment and it will hit you like a ton of bricks. You will begin sweating uncontrollably and there is no rhyme or reason to where and when these attacks occur. However, it seems that they are more typical in the evening and over night.

Women have been witnessing the signs of menopause for a very long time. If you’re wondering what is going on with your body, talk to your doctor about your symptoms today.
