If you are hosting a fancy dress party, follow ways that can ensure that your party will be the party of the season. Read on for handy tips on what makes a fancy dress party a big hit.

You should first think on whether there would be a theme for your dress party. The theme would help your guests to choose outfits that complement their personality. You should always mention the chosen theme on your party invitations. You might also want to verify in the invitations if it is adults only or if kids can come. The spirit of the party can be ruined if kids are allowed and then a guest turns up in a revealing adult fancy dress outfit.

Choosing a Theme A great way to determine what type of theme to use for your party is to think about your guests. What are the age ranges? Also, what era were they born in? You want to make sure that your guests are comfortable, and you would not want to choose a theme that many of them would not feel comfortable obeying to.

If you are inviting not just your friends but your entire family as well, then some of your older family members might not be comfortable with an 80’s theme or even a 60’s theme.

A theme that has outfits that are re4adily available in all sizes and is comfortable is an ideal one. It all goes back to making sure your guests are comfortable.

Decorations When your guests walk into the fancy dress party, you want them to be awed and amazed. Don’t you want the party to be the talk of the town? Decorations are not as stressful as they might seem. Finding a local shop that sells decorations is the best. Alternatively you can browse through online shops trading in decorations and buy from them.

Before you set off decoration shopping, make a list of items that might contribute towards the theme. This will help you evaluate everything you need while you are in the shop, and will allow you to make choices easier.

Choosing the Food While the fancy dress costumes and the decorations are both very important, the food is also important. Your guests will be expecting some type of food at your party. It is always expected, and it also gives you a great opportunity to show off your cooking skills! Keep the food simple, but also stick to the theme.

For a Halloween party, try to serve food that looks like spiders and other such scary stuff. For a Hollywood party you could serve little sandwiches, and if you are short on money, skip the champagne and pour juice in champagne flutes.

A fancy dress party can often be a lot of work for the host, so make sure that you enjoy yourself as well. Looking into the finer details is definitely important to have a good party, but do not get too worked up to spoil the fun.
