Mineral Powder Bronzer: A Truly Natural Tanned Look
March 26th, 2009 by Marilyn Etzel
When it gets warm outside, everyone wants to be in the sun. Before you go to the beach or on vacation you want to already look kissed by the big yellow ball. Put away your money for the tanning bed and opt instead for a tanned look without damaging your skin.
A bronzer does just what the name implies: it adds a deeper tone to your skin simulating the effects of the sun. Mineral makeup bronzers have the distinction of being all natural and healthier for your skin than traditional products. There is a bronzer color to fit your skin tone without looking made up.
Mineral bronzers look natural and the minerals hide wrinkles and skin discolorations. Minerals melt into your skin as your body warms up. You can’t feel them though because the coverage is lightweight and healthy for your skin. No one will ever suspect that you didn’t spend hours out in the sun.
Unlike the tan you get from a tanning salon, bronzers enhance the look of your skin. Some contain shimmering minerals to add that bit of sparkle to your skin for an evening with friends or formal dinner parties.
How do you apply a bronzer? Moisturize your face like you normally would. Be sure that your skin is completely dry before applying any type of mineral makeup.
Prepare your face for the bronzer with a little mineral foundation. The foundation is just as light as the bronzer and it allows additional makeup to set naturally. Bronzer goes on the apples of your cheeks just like blush. Smile to reveal the rounded “apple” and smooth on your bronzer starting at the nose and moving outward.
Don’t stop there. Apply your mineral bronzer to other areas of your face as well. Go to your forehead and sweep side to side; then proceed down the bridge of your nose. Your bronzer will be darker than your foundation but only as dark as you would look if tanned by the sun.
Mineral bronzer works well on other parts of your body as well. Let’s say that you are stepping out for the evening in a cute little strapless dress. You don’t want your bare shoulders to stick out. Apply some mineral bronzer to the tops and front of your shoulders and your neck for a sun kissed look that extends beyond your face.
Don’t forget those gorgeous legs. Mineral bronzer can be applied to your lower half as well. You will need a bit more powder than you used on your face, but a Kabuki brush will provide even coverage so no one else will be the wiser to your trick. Mineral bronzer can be used to simulate pantyhose for a more formal function where you don’t quite feel like putting them on. And, because you are using natural minerals, you don’t have to worry about streaking because the minerals will blend into the skin.
Instead of tanning this year, try mineral bronzer. You’ll get complements on your tan without stepping foot into a salon or into the sun.
