Small Weddings - What Are The Benefits

There are several reasons for why couples are now opting for much smaller weddings rather than big and lavish ones. The biggest problem with a large wedding is the cost and often couples find themselves still paying for it long after it has taken place.
In recent years the number of people choosing to spend vast sums of money on lavish weddings because celebrities have is quite astounding. Yet smaller weddings are now coming back into fashion and certainly many people are seeing the advantages of having one. For those who want something a little more personal and intimate on their special day then a small wedding should be considered.
But although your wedding may be small it does not mean it has to be informal, simple or cheap. Certainly a small wedding will not be as expensive as a large wedding because guest’s numbers are much less but you can still make it lavish if you want.
When it comes to a small wedding in fact we are referring to the number of guests that have been invited and will be attending this event. Normally with such weddings the bride and groom will only invite a few very close relatives and friends to celebrate this very important day in their lives.
As the number of guests invited to attend small weddings are much less then the bride and groom can actually dedicate more of time and energies in areas of their day that they consider to be more important. Sometimes this may offer them the opportunity of actually getting married abroad rather than in their home town.
There are lots of destinations around the world where people are now choosing to get married when they have a small wedding. The Caribbean is an extremely popular destination with many couples these days and for some a little more unique, couples are heading to Las Vegas. Whilst others who are looking for something a little more intimate and romantic are choosing the route of having theirs at a castle or in a mountain lodge.
If you really want to be saving money on your wedding day and have it at home instead there are certain things one can do to save on the costs. The majority of costs for a wedding are taken up by the reception because in many cases a couple will hire a room or hold it in a hotel. But instead to save money why not arrange for the reception to be held at a family member’s home or at a restaurant that the bride and groom like.
As you can see small weddings can be as elaborate or as simple as the couple whose big day it is wants. Just what kind of small wedding they have will depend on what they are willing to spend on it. What each couple should remember is that this is their special day and be one that they and their guests will remember for years to come.
